What are cookies?

Cookies are small elements of texts which are stored on the computer of a user who accesses a website if the browser settings of the user permits this. Information can be written to these text files and can be read at a later point in time. A cookie is linked to a certain domain and contains information that can be read at a later time by this domain only. Cookies that are written by the domain under which the website is registered are called first-party cookies. All other cookies are called third-party cookies. These third parties are able to write cookies if the accessed website embeds functionality that is running under the domain of the third party. All common browsers allow users to activate settings for the use of cookies and for the time that these are stored. These settings can be used to prevent the use of cookies entirely or to reduce the time cookies will be saved. Please refer to the help menu of your browser or to https://www.aboutcookies.org. You can either delete cookies that were already stored in the respective directory on your hard disk manually or by deleting the appropriate function in your browser. For data protection purposes there are two types of cookies: cookies that require your consent before being allowed to be stored on your device and cookies that do not require your consent to be stored if the sole intended use is “transferring a message via an electronic communication network” or “if it is absolutely required for a provider of a service of the information society that was expressly selected or used by a user to be able to provide this service”. The websites of Kon-Cept use a variety of cookies. A list of all cookies that are processed by Kon-Cept can be found in the appendix.

Data that can be captured and processed by third parties

This refers to data for which the responsibility or the conformity with data protection laws lies with third parties as these cannot be obtained or processed by Kon-Cept itself. A partial list of these third parties is given in the appendix. Please note that this list can change any time without notice. Please read the privacy statements of these third parties as listed there. You can use your browser settings to control who is permitted to store third party cookies on your device. Please refer to your browser’s user manual. Very often third parties themselves provide opt-out options to which we refer in the appendix as well. Please note that in many cases, opt-out functions themselves rely on cookies and you will have to repeat the settings after deleting cookies.

Transferring data for legal reasons

We retain the right to provide personal data to relevant authorities if we are required to do so by law, administrative orders or if demanded by legal procedures.

Inquiries, deletion, blocking

You can request access to your personal data, saved by us, at any time and free of charge. As the person concerned, you have a right to retraction, information, deletion, correction and restriction of your personal data, provided we are not bound by a statutory requirement to preserve these records.
For more information regarding your rights as the person concerned, please contact us.

Appendix 1

Third parties

This is a list of partners whose services we have integrated into our website as well as of the links to the privacy statements of the relevant providers. Please note that this list can change without notice any time.

Twitter

We use Twitter functions that are provided by Twitter Inc. and which can be identified by the Twitter logo. The Twitter Share button that can be found at the beginning and the end of the text of an article will start the corresponding function on https://twitter.com only after you click on the button. This will establish a connection to https://twitter.com. If Twitter contents (tweets) are embedded in a page (e.g. within the article) or the “follow me” Twitter button, then a direct connection between your browser and the Twitter server will be established already when loading the page via the widget used. This connection can be used to transmit data specific for the browser so that Twitter will be able to store third-party cookies that enable e.g. identification of the browser of the user. Please note that we have no control over the use of this data; also we have no information about the transferred data or its use by Twitter. By using Twitter and the function “re-tweet” websites that you access will be linked to your Twitter account and made visible for other users. Also, data will be transferred to Twitter. For more information please refer to the privacy statement of Twitter which can be found under https://twitter.com/privacy. Use your Twitter account settings under https://twitter.com/account/settings to change your privacy settings in Twitter.

Google

We use Google services like YouTube and Maps and embed Google contents. The provider is Google Inc. By using Google services like YouTube and Maps in our websites it may be possible that during the loading of a page via the plugin used for it a direct connection between your browser and the Google server will be established. This connection can be used to transmit data specific for the browser so that Google will be able to store third-party cookies that enable e.g. identification of the browser of the user. Please note that we have no control over the use of this data; we also have no information about the transferred data or its use by Google. Embedding plugins is not always visible for the user. You can access the privacy statement of Google under this link: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/
